There’s nothing I love more than wandering through beautiful, Provençal towns! So after a few too many days sitting around in Saint-Tropez, we decided to jump in the car and get out of the neighborhood. The two hour drive from the south is a little long for a day trip, but I wanted to see this region again before we left (who knows when we’ll be back?!). So off we went!
Most everything in Aix was closed for August, including the two coffee shops I tried to find, so we settled on a little café, got a cold drink to go, and wandered around this beautiful town. It was hot, and people filled the streets, but that never stops me from enjoying the architecture anywhere!
Enjoy these photos from our lovely afternoon walk!
Isn’t it a lovely place? I particularly love the shutters and facades of all the buildings! I also couldn’t help but take photos of all the window boxes and building details, like the marble door handle above.
Aix is an old city, originally built by the Romans, and even when it’s crawling with tourists in the middle of August, it’s still a delightful treat to visit! If you haven’t made it to this part of the world yet, I hope you get the opportunity to pass through – I mean, that water fountain alone is worth the trip!
