Spring has finally sprung, and I spent most of yesterday walking around my neighborhood marveling at the trees finally turning green. I’ve never been so happy to see trees blooming after such a long winter of bare, knobby branches wherever you look. Ugh, it was just awful. And now, everyone I speak to is animated, making plans for the gorgeous warm months ahead, and enjoying being outside!
This week I powered through many of the things on my task lists, and have been a lot more social than I’ve managed to be in a long time. I even went out to see a movie! My bestie and I went to see I Feel Pretty and enjoyed the heck out of that silly, emotional film. There were some serious moments that I felt so moved, and then a second later I was laughing out loud. It made me think of this article, which talks about how people can love movies that are axed by the critics.
Another show I’ve loved watching this week is Godless on Netflix! It stars Michelle Dockery (AKA Lady Mary from Downton Abby), along with Jeff Bridges and a few other talented cast members, as they survive in a desperate, forgotten town in the Wild West. Who knew Lady Mary would go so quickly from tea cakes to shotguns? Teehee!
In other news, as we approach wedding season, I thought this article about women opting for no-makeup wedding days was pretty interesting. I chose very minimal makeup with only a few false eyelashes and a subtle cat eye. However, I did opt for foundation which I never wear day to day. I also LOVED this home tour of a seriously fun, vintage filled apartment. Who knew you could cram so much personality into a rental? It makes me ache for the days I spent scouring the vintage markets in San Francisco. And finally, Jon and I have been talking about Bitcoin for years, and he shared this article with me that fits how he’s felt about the cryptocurrency for some time. He even owned some a few years back, but now it’s been lost alongside many of the other buyers that picked up a few coins way back when for cents on the dollar!
I hope you have a great weekend! I’m looking forward to getting my flowerbeds in order for planting, and finally getting back to romance novel reading after a literary tumble with some serious books. (Side note: why does real literature always have to end up sad/true?). I’m heading back to dreamland, but I’ll see you next week! <3
