Hi there!

My name is Eva Grall. I’m a New Jersey-based writer and artist who runs the blog She’s So Bright. I’m currently looking to hire a professional makeup artist to work with on a series of creative photoshoots for my short stories. The shoots will take place in Montclair, NJ, which is easily accessible from New York City by public transport. I’m looking for someone who is available to collaborate on multiple projects over an extended period, and who brings their own creativity and experienced point of view.

Ideal applicants will be creative, easy to work with, and reliable. The ability to do some hair is a plus, but not required. Must be able to do high-quality contour makeup and have knowledge in special effects application.

Our first project will be portraits with two looks for a short story inspired by Dorian Gray. The story is about an Instagram influencer who loses her soul to the app, and only looks beautiful in photographs, but is a monster in real-life. The first look will be “full glam” (contoured Instagram influencer) for a photograph of what her followers see, and the second look will show the true horror of how her real looks are decaying (SFX zombie makeup, aging, etc). This first project will probably be a half-day shoot.
