As we enjoy our day off, I just wanted to pause and take a moment to give appreciation for the man whose birthday we celebrate today. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an incredible writer, speaker, and civil rights activist, but also, fundamentally, an exceptional man. We can all learn many things from him, but let’s start with compassion – compassion for every person that walks this earth, understanding of those who are different from us, and an obligation to spread love and goodwill to others. In a world where we need to help our friends and stand by our neighbors more than ever, I urge each of you to take time to think about how we can do more for each other – particularly those whose communities are in need or under threat.
It’s always the right time to send a little more good into the universe! Or as Dr. King put it years ago: “the time is always right to do what is right.”
