On this second trip to New Orleans, I took a little more time figuring out places we had yet to see, and the City Park was one of the things that piqued my interest. With its 800-year-old live oak trees and beautiful landscapes, I couldn’t resist a walk among the canopies of Spanish moss and the giant, tangled branches.
But when we got to the park, it was MUCH hotter than either of us expected, and with little to no shade where we happened to be walking, I found another solution! I convinced Jon to hop into a two-person pedal surrey (which looks like a really cute old-timey vehicle) and steer me around the park. With his head already showing signs of sunburn, he was easy to convince, and we hopped under the shade.
It was so much more fun than I imagined! We followed the pathway along the park, getting stuck under trees, occasionally off-roading, and despite our best efforts, we still got lost. Whenever we wanted to stop and take a picture, we jumped out, walked around and snapped away.
Check out all the photos from our little ride…
By the way, I absolutely love this shirt from Sézane. It has cute semi-nude beach going ladies, and the cotton and silk material makes it super light for summer. Sadly, it’s sold out, but you can find similar styles here!
I hope you enjoyed the views of City Park as much as I did! Don’t you just love this beautiful place?
What city is home to your favorite public park or gardens? Share with me in the comments! And nearly everything I’m wearing is sold out, so I put together a few similar picks below if you’re interested! Also…now I really want a custom surrey to ride around town in, but I can’t believe how expensive they are!
