Iceland is a beautiful country – nay, spectacular, and one I hope to return to many more times. I’m talking about the landscape, of course, but apparently, I should also be talking about the men’s soccer team, who are equally worth driving through a snowstorm in the Westfjords to see. The tiny island of roughly 300,000 inhabitants is not only the smallest country to ever qualify for the World Cup tournament, but also likely one of the best looking group of Nordic men I’ve seen in one place.
So, let me introduce you to the team favorites:
Rúrik Gíslason:
Ragnar Sigurðsson (with Messi):
Alfreð Finnbogason:
Birkir Bjarnason:
Hólmar Örn Eyjólfsson:
When Iceland played Argentina last week, it didn’t take long for the rest of the world to notice the strikers’ striking good looks (see what I did there?). Specifically, Rúrik Gíslason went from having 30,000 followers on Instagram to over 1 million in a matter of days.
See the benefits of enjoying men’s sports? Now get to watching Iceland play against Croatia at 1 p.m. on Fox, and you can thank me later for the tip.
