It has been ridiculously difficult to keep up with all the great shows available this summer. And after watching two straight weeks of BBC Olympic streaming, from shot put to beach volleyball, I had a lot of good television to catch up on.
Here’s what I’ve been watching:
#1. Safari LIVE
This live stream has recently been making the rounds on the internet, so I decided to check it out. It’s a live safari from Kruger National Park in South Africa. The likable rangers are incredibly knowledgeable, tell great stories, and capture unique wildlife moments in the park. I’ve already learned how to tell the difference between male and female lion tracks, that nature’s best bug spray is some flaming elephant dung, and that leopards drag their kills up into a tree. Did I mention everyone has a South African accent?
SafariLIVE streams live on YouTube at midnight (EST) every night. The stream lasts well into the next morning, so you can to watch a heard of zebras while you drink your coffee! I suspect they only do live streaming at certain times of the year, so enjoy the safari while it’s still available!
#2. Orange is the New Black
Boy, has season 4 been intense! I had to take a break midway through because of the heaviness of every episode. I love the personality of each character in this series, and that’s what keeps me coming back.
Available on Netflix.
#3. Stranger Things
I’ve been seeing this show all over my Facebook news feed, but lucky for me I didn’t stumble on any spoilers. My mother is a big fan of science fiction and after hearing that this show was reminiscent of The X-Files, she immediately wanted to binge watch the entire season with me. I must admit, it was hard to dole out the show a little at a time, but I don’t like to hurry through the season just to have to wait another year for the next one! Not only does Stranger Things fill up my nostalgia meter, but I found every single episode sped by in a blink. Please sir, I want some more!
Available on Netflix.
#4. Mr. Robot
As with several of the show on this list, I am a very late viewer. Mr. Robot isn’t available on any of my usual streaming sites, so it was totally off my radar. I’m still really early in Season 1, but I’m looking forward to finding out what happens to Elliot and Fsociety over the next few weeks.
Available for streaming through Amazon Prime.
#5. The Great British Baking Show: Season 3
My wedding, the Olympics, and the above series have all gotten in the way of watching my favorite show. So, I’ve decided to hoard all the episodes on my DVR and watch them when I need to decompress (usually after an episode of Mr. Robot). Nothing but pure joy during ever show stopper bake!
The Great British Baking Show is available for streaming on PBS.com. To read about why I love this show, click here.
#6. Narcos
This is definitely more Jon’s favorite than mine, but I’m preparing to watch the new season which comes out tomorrow!
Available on Netflix.
So…with all the good stuff out there, what shows have you been watching lately?
